I've used both on different bikes, the berthoud feel amazing and install easy.
I find them very easy to make completely silent and they stay that way. The
VO's are more fiddly but I suppose are lighter.
It's not a contest for me, berthoud all the way. Mine took powdercoating

Condition unimportant, need only be functional. The beat-er the better-er.
Would consider early non-carbon Rivals as well.
Note I'm after brake levers only, not the brifters.

You
Buy the VO fenders and use Berthoud stays and attachment hardware available
at Ben's cycle. That is what I did. The VO stay attachments are clunky
looking and on the front. cn contribute to toe overlap depending on the
bike. It did on my Hilsen , so I switched over to the Berthoud stays.
On
Simpleone is canti as well. Earlier info before it was released suggested it
was going to be long reach calipers, but it ended up being built with canti
brakes.

I'm partial to canti-brakes since I bought my first Stumpjumper back in '82
(I had two more in the '90's), so I'm glad to have a QB. It's a blast to
ride! I've started a job near BWI airport and I'm planning to ride the BWI
and B trails with it next week. May have to up the chain ring or size
I've used (up) about 3 pairs of Berthoud stainless steel fenders on my '03
Riv (3d time lucky) and I used another pair on another Rivendell. Oddly,
they dent more easily than the 2 pairs of hammered Honjos I've used;
whether this be the aluminum or the texture. Too bad no one carries Honjo

I am eventually going to get around to putting bigger fenders on my
Appaloosa, and was looking at VO's 700x63 and Berthoud's 700x60 from Peter
White.
Any experience or differences? It looks like the Berthoud's are predrilled
in the same way, for the stays, so you have to add a hole for a rack
Hi all-
I wanted to know if anyone here had any experiences with Nitto Dove bars?
If so, I’d be interested in your thoughts. How did you like them? Do they
have as much backward length as the Albas? Similar sweep angle? Enough for
a forward position? Hard to find much info online.

Hi Steve,
Personally I love drop bars. They are my favorite bars to use. :)
The bike falling over can move a lever out of place. Then it is up to the
rider if it matters to them or not how perfect they realign it, and the
procedure they use.
Drops are not, in and of themselves, hard to set

In the last year, I have converted at least 7 bikes to dynamo hubs. Initially I
was worried about drag, but it is very minimal when you are on the bike and
moving. My first hub was a SON. Since then I've laced up 3 Shimano & 3 or 4
Shutter Precisions. The SON is probably the best overall

I had issues setting up Blunt 35 rims tubeless. Any little bump seemed to
make the tire burp. So I went split tubeless using 20 or 24" tubes and
have had no issues since, even running super low pressures. Super easy set
up, no tape to worry about. That's what I'd recommend.
On Sunday,
Thanks to all for the informative responses, especially Messrs. Lindsay and

Drop bars *must* be set up so that the ends of the hooks are
*perfectly* parallel
to *terra firma** or *you will* go to Hell. Or your hands will. Or mine
will. At least the left one.

In case you didn't see this.
And all prices are flexible, just like the tire beads.

I just did my Sam and my wife's Betty two weeks ago. I rarely take off the
front wheels and when I do it is a bigger pain with Pit Lock skewers. They
really get hung up on the lips because of the design. I used a Dremel and
was somewhat careful and now taking off the wheel is much easier.

off-pavement. My current bar is too wide, if anything. I find myself
