I dunno if i'd say top, but toward nothern end. Small shop with lots of the
sort of stuff we like and no, not cheap. I did call them earlier though and
the price i was quoted for packing the bike seemed more than reasonable.

is Dream Cycles the shop towards the top of Commercial Drive? They do have
nice things. Not cheap.

Hey all,
I have a few things I'm looking to clear out of my parts collection. Let
me know if you have any interests in the following:
Nitto M151 Handlebar, 26.0 Clamp, 46cm Width, Short Reach (76mm), Shallow
Drop(128MM), Used for a about a month to see if I liked them. $35 Shipped
Nitto
Note also that Adventure Cyclist recently tested the Joe Appaloosa:

And Editor-in-Chief Alex Strickland bought that one. Apparently the people
at Adventure Cyclist know a good bike when they see one.

Dream seems like a good choice. Bike Doctor on Broadway (across from MEC)

HI All,
Hoping for some advice. May need to ship a bike. I'm hoping to get a local
shop to do a solid job packing up the bike. Any recommendations?
Thanks,

Hi Donald,
The rando is still available, but I'm still hoping for a local sale.
Thanks,

That is a nice review and nice to see. I think with all the new bikes
Riv's been introducing, the Hillborne's gotten a bit overshadowed or
forgotten lately (I could be wrong). I love mine and, although I
occasionally feel the tug of a different Riv (650b Hunq), it supports most
of the riding
Thanks for the feedback. Please post once you've tried it out.
Thanks,

I don't know of a piece like that, but I've been struggling with that mirror,
too, and your question got me to thinking. I found this accessory mount from
Problem Solvers..if it's mounted on a Choco just ahead of the brake levers, the
mirror will install at the correct angle. Kinda spendy, but
Does anyone know if you can purchase an extension bar for the German Mirror
that Riv sells? I have it mounted on my Choco bars and if I could swap out
the bar that connects the mirror to the handlebar mount another inch or
two, it would be ideal.
I did look through previous posts on the forum

I'd keep it just in case you sell off a bike and would (I'd assume) want to
keep the dynamo wheel. Easier than scrounging up a wheel later on that is a
mismatch to the rear wheel

A spare wheel is always desirable specially when the primary wheel is based
on a user non-serviceable dynamo hub.

I had an M18 on my Rambouillet with pclamps and a Docena Demi-Porteur bag
and after one too many overstuffed grocery stops I decided that I needed a
different rack.
I acquired a Nitto 27F and I love it thinking about getting some braze-ons
put on to get rid of the clamps.
I have not loaded it

For the most accurate results on spoke length you best measure the rim ERD and
hub flange offsets the way the spoke calculator is designed to do. Not all of
them are set up the same. The calculator I use most often is Roger Musson's
Wheelpro and the instructions where to measure are on his
Using new spokes I am assuming. It would be very uncommon to have a dynamo
hub that matches the flange diameter and offset of a front hub.

The m18 gets bendy with loads of 4-5lbs, in my experience. I like a mark's
rack, and have one on my main bike, but these days I put a long strut down to
the drop out. Even then, there is noticeable sway. The whole diving board
attachment point seems to need a redesign.

I agree with you, Matt. To me, it is obvious and self evident, by inspection
that the 32F is way stronger than the M18. The Published numbers are what they
are. I take responsibility for myself and I make my own decisions. I do run

I find it kind of hard to believe that the 32F is only safe for 4.4 lbs and
the M18 safe for ~14+? If those are the advertised figures, either the
4.4lbs is extremely conservative for the 32F or else the 14 lbs. for the
M18 is fairly optimistic. The 32F has chromoly brazed-on outer struts and
