Just another data point.
I have several sets of those grips. Two sets were done with amber and one with
clear.
I can't see a bit of difference between them.

I use SKS 26" 60mm fenders over Compass Switchback Hill 650bx48. That was
the widest size that would fit between the seatstays and fork blades (the
actual measured width is 60.5mm):
with helmets the key thing is fit. buy the one that fits. Most Giro and and
Bell mediums for me we'll, but poc and catlike don't.

Andrew,
If you can I'd advise you hang on to it. As pondero points out these are unique
bikes with fine characteristics. Though they aren't always immediately snapped
up when they become available, they usually aren't available. If you let yours
go cheep and later find you want one, your
I like the way POCs fit my wide head. Good ventilation. Pretty light.
Fairly costly.
Team Cannondale is riding them on the Pro Tour this year.

Andrew, I can't figure out why this hasn't sold yet. Quickbeams are magic.
They glide. And this one is in such fine condition. Wow.
I've got my 56 QB, and don't want to let it go. Surely, someone will see the
value here and snatch it up...and they'll enjoy it.

I think you mean threaded. It's an open-face threaded stem, which - as I think
you were addressing - is unusual.

Many thanks for the quick replies!
I think I'll go with amber, as Philip's photo shows. I agree that the
Selects will darken fairly quickly, and will follow the (unknown to me)
advice of the steel wool between coats.

I think it depends on the age of the select. Those get dark pretty quick. I
like clear on cork, but it will be less matchy to a honey colored brooks.

Amber. And steel wool between coats. Beautiful durable matte finish. I'll
try to find a pic of my Wilbury -- they're beautiful.

I need to shellac the cork grips I'm using in th Hubbuhubbuh. First time
using them. Will they look nicer and match the B-67 Select saddles better
with clear or with amber shellac?
Any suggestions and/or photos?

I think the POC Octal helmets look great. They are just $$$ though.
I have a 12 year old Louis Garneau I need to replace. I wish I still wrote for
Punknews and worked part time at a record label - that somehow got me a free
Giro helmet like 15 years ago!

Looks like a later time didn't make much difference for people, so we're
going back to 7AM. Sounds early but if you can get yourself there it's
incredibly beautiful at that time with the light and water. Then you have
the full day left and time to take a longer bike ride! More info
Thank you Mark!
They look like a good choice. Have those safety tabs too!

Hi Patrick,
On my Medium, I chopped off 5 inches from the super long steerer tube,
which leaves about 63mm above the headset. The height of the threadless
Bullmoose stem is about 42mm, which leaves me with plenty of room to play
with with spacers above and below the stem to fine tune the height.
I recent bought a gyro synthe, to my eye its looks like a fancier/aero
aspect. I know its not what you're looking for but it is supremely
comfortable!

I have been riding a Giro Sutton MIPS since December 2015 and find it very
comfortable. Much lighter than the Nutcase it replaced. It's on Sierra
Trading Post right now for $55, if you don't mind neon yellow. I don't use
a mirror so no advice there.
Giro have some "normal" - looking SPD shoes,
Giro Aspect has been my favorite helmet. It is the one I wear the most

I have the "Front" Roller classic - different name, same pannier - mounted
