Excellent point, Mark. I pre-ordered mine the other day.
I love pre-orders. It's like a gift I sent to myself from the past, because
I've usually forgotten that I ordered it.

Might as well go for low trail and a skinny thin top tube while you're at
it !;^)

Yeah, definitely. You don't install a built in swimming pool or redo the
kitchen right before listing your house. Paint job for bike equals major
expenditure that will not increase the value enough to cover the cost of
the paint job, never mind the potential aggravation.
On Tuesday, September
This bike has sold.
Thanks for the interest.

As-is for sure. I’m sure it’s got a real nice patina.
How much, by the way?

Agree with Sky, sell it as is. It'll be much easier to move.

Concur with Sky. Let new owner decide if they want to refurbish or “just ride”
at lower price.

In case it’s not clear, we’re riding across two parks/preserves so that’s why
the permits/parking fees are so convoluted/confusing. Apologies in advance if
it seems a little kludgy.
1. Everyone needs to pay for a shawangunk preserve permit.
2. Only people that drive/park at minnewaska need to
Alright folks here’s three points that will be helpful wrangling campers,

very sorry to hear that, Max. hopefully someone can use the site.

I also did not know Organic made bike bags, but that makes sense. I'll check it
out!

Hi Everyone,
I was planning to attend this as my first official Riv gathering, but due
to an unexpected medical issue with my dad I won't be able to make it this
weekend.
If anyone still needs a campsite, I paid for a spot for the weekend and
would be happy to work something out.
Best,
Max
Do we have a meeting place yet? Perhaps I missed it?

I would also love if it was a dedicated 650b frameset. Perhaps even a
direct mount centerbrake design!

The quill of my technomic creaks in the head tube when it's not lubed, or
hasn't been lubed in a while. It happens at wide enough intervals that I
forget where the creaking is coming from and let it drive me crazy for a
while before I remember it's the quill ha ha.
On Saturday, September 14,
I use seed lac or button lac, dissolved in denatured alcohol of course, to
soak the jute twine on my bars. Both darken the twine, which is OK with
me. I think it's likely that the blonde lac would not darken the tape as
much, but I am confident it will still darken it some.

Long shot perhaps, but I have a higher quality 27" wheelset for sale if
you're looking for some nice wheels for a vintage bike.
Both wheels are 36 spoke laced to Super Champion rims in excellent
condition.
Rear hub is older Phil Wood, 120 spacing.
Front is very smooth and hard to find Weyless
Cyclocross bike, with a Legolas/Quickbeam/Rosco Road geometry.

That's great to know! Thanks for the information--was just thinking about
what food we need to bring!
On a related note for pre/post ride things to do -- we'll have a fiddle and
banjo in tow with a disclaimer that we are relative beginner/intermediate
players with a few old time tunes in our
FYI there’s a killer traditional German Restaurant called Mountain Brauhaus
about 4 mins/.5 mi from the campground. I plan on riding over around 6 on
Friday night. They’re only open till 9 pm so it gets a little packed/crazy on
the weekends. If anyone would like to join me, let me know and

To be honest the description and color didn’t sound appealing to me. However,
regret is a bitter pill to swallowso I ordered anyway. Looking forward to
being pleasantly surprised and it’s always nice to have something on the

I do not agree that a factory ebike works better, it's just a cleaner build.
I've converted a few Rivs and having the benefit of a great bike to start with
was a big plus, in my opinion. I'll have pics of an All Rounder with Copenhagen

Yes, it is a bit busy between Cambria and SLO, but for an urbanized area,

I've got an E-bike & seeing as the whole bike cost about the same as my
Clementine; there's hardly reason enough to buy a Rivendell and electrify it;
cheaper just to buy a complete Ebike. It will work better then a converted bike
as well.

I don't think it's a matter of finances really; the seat lug pictured was a
prototype the accompanying lugs might not be fully developed yet & likely
wouldn't be before the lug maker goes out of business.
Speaking for myself I would gladly plop down a deposit if that would insure
