You really can't beat a Son hub with Edelux light. I commuted in the dark
for several years with this system and it always performed flawlessly.
However, I'm between generator-powered bikes right now - the Rambler is
dead, the custom not finished. So I'm investigating less expensive options.
If you're jonesing for a Rambouillet, I have an original orange,
fancy-lugged 62 that I just don't ride much anymore. It's in really good
condition. I would love for it to find a good home and am willing to make a
deal.

front derailleur clamp is too small. I have a 3x8 set up with a Deore rear
derailleur. What size clamp is needed for the front derailleur and does

I use the 1 UP rack (2-bike version) for my Clementine 55cm on my Subaru

To be clear for the OP, Woody fenders aren't going to correlate to curved SKS
plastic. The Woodys are notched at the bridges and don't wrap the tire..you'll
get less real-world rain protection in exchange for fitting fat rubber.

I use Tektro R559 brakes on several bikes in my stable, and many Cheviuts
get Tektro R559 brakes. When I am using Tektro R559 brakes and fenders, I
always limit myself to 38mm tires or narrower. I've managed to get 42mm
tires to 'work' as in 'not rubbing' when I spin the wheels in the stand,
I'm 99.9% sure you can't fit 47's and fenders on a Chev ... so that leaves
you in the 42 / 1.75 tire with fenders category. We're running Hetres and
V/O Snakeskin fenders (and those are technically only 50 but it's working)

Over the weekend I took advantage of Riv's Halloween promotion and ordered
up a Cheviot for my wife. Right now she's riding an undersized Salsa
Casseroll with Panaracer Pasela 32s, and I'd like to provide her with a
plusher ride similar to my Hunq wth Big Bens (she prefers a step-through
frame
I have a 67. The MUSA Homer is, for me, a bike that hits the sweet spot.
Takes bigger tires and is better on unpaved surfaces than the old Ram, and
is a better unloaded road bike than the MUSA Atlantis.
It's a great bike -- hopefully there's a tall person out there who will
commit and enjoy
