I do have a Road+ frame in a box. That build may happen this year, or might not. I have a ton of riding ambitions that I want to complete before I get into another build. I do not anticipate pushing out any of my Black Mountain bikes. They are absurdly inexpensive and all have been awesome.

Oh yeah, I knew I was boned when I saw I was the only one with a 50” low gear. Fixed gear up, grinding out a cadence that kept me moving, and then dying after three turns and watching everyone I’d passed pass me back. I pulled a freewheel out of the bar bag at the top and coasted down, though.

I have an early AHH (56 so 650b). I regularly take it on group rides where everybody else is riding a MCFRB. Works great. Ive also done plenty of rides with it that those folks think need a mtn bike. Also works great. My wife has a Sam. I believe that build choices make a much bigger difference

I’ve had a Sam since 2015. I got one of the MIT AHH frames in July and built it up and rode it for 200 miles. I prefer the Sam. Specifically, it feels stiffer and, for me, corners quicker. I like that. You may not. It does, indeed, feel “burlier” to me. The AHH feels “looser”, or rather,
