Yeah, that's odd. Maybe ask them about it? All the other parts seem
reasonably priced.

I just went over to buy something I needed from Rivendell, inspired by your
post.
They want $42 for a UN55 bottom bracket. A bottom bracket with an MSRP of $25
and a normal retail price between $15 and $20.

Hey all,
Picking up a new 650b Cheviot and I’m looking for a dyno setup. Anyone have a
front wheel and/or dyno headlight they’re looking to sell?

I ran over a stick today and it broke my fromt fender. Breakaway struts
saved the day. No crash, no broken spokes. Bike is rideable but front
fender broke. I've had these since 2011 and have about 45,000 miles on
them. I'd like the older fender without the plastic flap on the end. Too
Brilliant. I adore what Blue Lug and Simworks are doing.

Building bikes designed to last a lifetime, like Rivendell does, is the
right thing to do--but it's not what pays the bills best. I wonder if it
wouldn't be in Riv's best interest to offer consignment used Rivendells /
trade ins for new frames in order to get a portion of the proceeds from the
Yankeebird,
I reread your post and it’s uncanny. My exact situation. I wondered if I was
being too extreme in wanting to be quite upright, but you want the same thing,
and that’s good news to me. Even better news is that we can now accomplish it.
If you don’t like the stem Mark found for you,

Hehe, no worries, I excommunicated myself from that joint after some guy got
mad because I said carbon forks are stupid. Which they are!

I saw that post too, another great swept back option! My Rosco Baby has the
original Bosco and the rise is helpful, but I'd love to see the Losco on
some other bikes, it fills a gap in the long sweep back bar options.

Hey Mike,
Thanks for writing this. I have a Toyo Homer, a Simpleone shod with a
Rohloff hub and have ordered an MIT Atlantis. I’m wondering how you
compare the rides of the Homer and Atlantis. Thanks.

Justin,
Thanks for the heads up. I have Sunrace thumbies on my Appaloosa and I didn’t
see that email.
I am going to try that while I wait for the Silver mounts to come in.

Leah,
I forgot to mention, I have less superfluity of bikes than it might sound. I
took the Roadini to Wales at Christmas so I could ride with my sister, and have
some personal transport while I was there, and she is kindly storing the
Roadini in her bike shed for times when I go to visit
Bummed to hear the Silver 2 shifters don't mount perfectly on the Paul
thumbies...even with the adapter.
That was my plan ..to use the Paul mounts in 31.8mm size and the silver 2
shifter.
Does anyone know if there's another shifter mount with a 31.8mm clamp size?

So that's the 8cm DD but 2cm taller... That should fix this perfect! Nice!
All my quills on the Clem have been put to minimum insert, both for height and
to reduce the effective reach. Again this is not a problem on my Cheviot, which
is perfect with an 11cm "7" stem. The front end getting
I'm always amazed by the wide range of PBHs riding particular frame sizes.
For example, I ride a 56 MIT Atlantis with a PBH of 82.5 and a total
height of 181.4 cm with Albatross bars and 650B wheels. The bike fits me
very well. How does the same frame fit me and you at the same time?

It looks like it could be remedied with a thinner washer but I suspect the one
pictured has a square hole and possibly a stop to prevent the lever from
rotating 360 degrees.

I linked to this over on the Stem Chronicles thread. It's the same stem you
have and find to be 2cm too short. Except this one is...2cm shorter. Also
it should be remembered that because of the heat tube angle, as you

Leah, I have a 59cm Clem L. I tried a 50 Tallux that I already had laying
around, it solved the reach issue but it was too low, and in the end settled on
a 10cm DD that doesn't offer complete satisfaction, good height but about 2cm
too far forward, and it's maxed out.
