Hi Zack,
I'm interested in the frame/fork and probably the seatpost. It seems PM's
are disabled in this wonderful new google groups interface so please email

This is true, of course, but the other person was complaining of reach
problems, and my comments reflected his remarks.

I disagree with Patrick, and without having read the articles, I think I agree
with Garth. It really depends on the frame. Swept back bars work better on some
frames than others. A long top tube is helpful. I climb stand with Albatross
and Bosco bars with my body up in between the grips without
Perfect Garth, thanks. I will do that.

Trail for sure makes sense, lower has less stabilizing effect at rolling
speeds but the other variables do have profundity beyond their list
relegated value. My Rambouillet scared the heck out of me on a long steep
downhill when it broke out in a full-on shimmy oscillation. I had no load

Really great frame and GLWS. This line in your post made me laugh, "I
dripped some shellac on one of the downtubes" So many downtubes to drip on!
haha.

This is one I shouldn't have sold, too. It's light and smooth and fun and
that price is crazy and someone should buy it right now!

Kurt, this is a beautiful thing you have done for your former spouse. Truly.

could have given her than this, and that’s the truth. I hope this bike

Patrick Moore stated: "Shimmy can be caused by any number of things"
That's true and correct. Shimmy is resonance. Resonance in a mechanical
structure means everything important is just right.
Patrick Moore is also spot on in the way to fix it: Change something and
see if it fixed it. If
interesting, ok ill get more details and see if that will help narrow down
the issue.

Agree that other orange accents would make the BRG to orange contrast less
jarring. The blue Riv will get new blue bar tape, and I personally like the

Hey guys.
I have a longer reach bike with swept back (Velo Orange Granola Bars) and
currently messing with stem length. Started with a 110mm which puts the
grips ahead of the head tube. Standing climbing in that widest, farthest
back position feels normal. When switching to a 90mm stem (110

Hey all. After much hemming, hawing and spending, I've decided that there
is just nothing like a Pass and Stow rack. I love the aesthetics and
craftsmanship of Nitto racks, but I love going local and those Pass and
Stows are just..wow. Anyhow, I am going to be parting with a Nitto

Shimmy can be caused by any number of things; it seems to be common with
low trail designs built from very light tubing.
Eliminating those 2 things leaves an indefinite number of other things. My

it disappeared.

so I'm hoping someone here might be interested in this Brompton.

For trade is a Nitto S83 seat post (silver, 27.2mm, 250mm), which I am
hoping to swap for a Nitto S65 (silver, 27.2mm, 250mm). Pics of the S83

Headset installed correctly? Fork bent? Too much weight in the front?
Weight too high on the bike? Lightweight tubing that flexes too much?
Saddle height too high which generates a rocking motion and destabilizes
the bikes center of gravity?

Oops. I included the NYC cover because it has a similar pattern to the Clem

Has anyone replaced the elastic band on their MUSA pants or shorts? I
replaced with climbing webbing, but it has no stretch. I would love to hear
of a tried a true source, as it is hard to see how thick the bands are
online, and I am not sure where to even go in person to find such a thing.

Anyone here with a 86 PBH (I’m 6’ tall) riding an MIT Homer Hilsen? What bars

I’m on the bottom end of the range but would be usually rising on smooth
pavement.
