Foss tubes were* so *strange. I don't remember how it worked now but there'was a specific way they needed to be inserted in the tire, and they had a dedicated (and pricey) patch. My favorite wacky idea was a wheel size between 584(650b) and 622(700c), I believe it was 603. Grant cut a tire,

Thank you, my good man. I do enjoy it. It handles impeccably, and something -- the thin tubes? -- makes it noticeably easier to push a higher gear or maintain stroke against headwinds or up inclines. It was rather a chore getting the builder to do it right -- he had to make a second fork, and

I've seen the website numbers, but from personal experience: how much room do you need to keep a well-stuffed Baggabond 1" above the rear fender? How much room for a ditto Happysack? (Again, 1" air gap.) This is in case I go *without* a rack. If I decide to keep a rack, I will use Ortliebs.

It would be better to have a bit more clearance at the side, even for a rear tire, but the critical gap is at the top of the tire, and as long as this is close to 5 mm and as long as the tire has no knobs, I think it will be fine. I have slightly less than 5 mm clearance under the top of my rear
