I had one for a short while and found it finicky to install and counterintuitive to shift. I'm sure both of these reactions are based on decades of high-normal derailers, I think RapidRise is probably better for new riders who've never messed with the other way. On Monday, July 12, 2021 at

Hey guys, Why is there so little info on rapid rise RD and why is it so polarizing. Sources include bike snob grants blog and random internet sources. Takeaways were finicky and needing frequent adjustment but also great concept and easy down shifting. Any experience thoughts insights?

Lol, Doug. Yes, you’re onto something. I took a slight departure from that rabbit hole (the tinkering hole) and plunged into a different one (the new bike hole). I LOVE the Platy as it’s currently set up. I don’t think I’ll change it. I’ve discovered that dyno wires and light mounts make that

Supposedly, a new batch is coming late this year so I would factor that in if there's any concern about its used-ness, but if it's a local pickup (ie no shipping on top of that cost), a 'free' Silver 2pc crankset for the price of a new frameset would be alright by my COVID boom-adjusted

There's a Susie and Cheviot on SF Bay Craigslist that are probably optimistically priced, but a complete 45cm Clem L listed at $1600 is gone. I'll bet they got at or near asking price, which is about what a new one costs. On Monday, July 12, 2021 at 2:15:38 PM UTC-7 Ed Carolipio wrote: >

A year ago I would have balked but now? The worldwide bike/parts shortage has created an insane market which has dramatically affected used Riv prices, most of which are unavailable new from them right now. So yeah, if the frame isn't all scratched to heck it's fair. Someone will pay that.
