Thank you all so very much for your kind words and comments! It feels like
my new Platy had a birthday party and everyone came to celebrate! :)
Garth, thank you for the warm welcome despite my tardiness! I too love the

I love this thread…but perhaps I love most how wildly similar Leah and
Heather are to one another. It makes me laugh.
I also love that Laura shouted out “A PLATYPUS!” to a total stranger. :)
Heather, your Platy is breathtaking (and Carl, your Clem L! I love that
color)…I would be TERRIBLE at

I use a Wahoo Elemnt ROAM. It uploads automatically to Strava. And I use a
K-Edge time trial computer mount. It goes on the bars that are out front on
a TT bike, so it has the 22.2 clamping size that fits the bars on my Clem.
Works great.

Quadlock or not, I too like the simplicity (= "Do not duplicate electric
devises praeter necessitatem) of using my many-gens-old iPhone to track
miles and routes, and I heartily recommend Cyclemeter, free version, which
I've used for 6-7 years. I tried Strava and didn't like it for some reason

Hello everyone,
Does anyone have a spare set of Bleriot decals? Or does anyone know if RBW
has old ones in stock and available!

Johnny, that may be the easiest and least costly solution. I wasn't sure
how much battery drain but I'll give it a try. Now I just need to order a
quadlock.

Thanks Laura. Hope you're able to get a Riv sometime soon. Whichever model
and color you end up with, they bring a lot of joy!

@Doug I am not the OP but I just use apps on my phone. Strava or RideGPS.
My phone plus a quadlock mount is the best GPS system out there. Depending
on the app you can assign rides to certain bikes but still see cumulative
miles. I have quadlock mounts on all of my bikes.

Carl, that is a beautiful Clem. Funny how different bikes look with the
same colors. In my minds eye, a Susie is orange. I am not sure what color a
Platypus is, but I definitely favor the grey and dark gold Clem’s.

The downside of Fluid Film, IMHO, is that its name is accurate: It stays on
the surface as a thin wet film. You have to wipe it off if you're going to
put something else on (wax, paint etc.), which means losing whatever
protection you were getting out of it. Probably OK as a corrosion

I agree that Clem L's ride so nice! How do you track miles? I'm looking to
buy a GPS unit so I can use it on any bike I ride so I'll get cumulative
miles not just per bike.

Well Hellooo #RivSister Heather,
Whoohooo!!! I'm in love too. This is fantastic and just knocks it out of
the park for me. Congratulations and keep the smiles for all the miles
going.

Really nice, Heather. Beautiful paint job and I love the looks of the
cantilever brakes. Very classic. I've owned bike with V-brakes and know
how well they perform, but have never warmed up to them from an aesthetic
perspective. Much prefer the lines of a nice set of cantilevers.

Waterford built, and so I thought I'd give a heads up for the sake of my
tall fellow riders. I think all the pics and details are in the CL link

Hi Heather,
I am that nut at Bent Creek who called out, *A PLATYPUS* It was a
chance encounter with Heather and Joel that got me to seriously consider a
Rivendell bike. I went from casual browser to serious dreamer! It is great
to see a few pics and recognize beautiful places around
Welcome to the group and to being a RivSister! You Pumpkin Bisque bike is
beautiful and I loved reading your story about it. I visited Asheville
perhaps 20 years ago and your pictures reminded me how lovely it is (and
was), with the Platy setting off the beautiful scenery (or it it the other
Love the colour...interesting about bar choice, too. I have chocos on my

Grant went with the chocs on his recommendation. I have been riding
moustaches for ...almost 30 years and love them ...starting with my 93

Very nice.
I was all ready to place an order for a Workcycles Kr8 a few years back
when a brand new Bombadil in my size for 40% off appeared on the Rivendell
website. I still want one but need to thin the herd instead.
Apologies for the threadjacking.

I have a Hubbuhubbuh, a Medium Mountain Mixte, and a Rosco Baby, all with
the reversed clamp. I could swear that I read something from Rivendell once
that it was done to encourage V-brake use, but I could be wrong. I think it
was about the Hubbuhubbuh way back when.

As I said in the original post, nothing is for sale quite yet. The title of
