size tires it also has a Marks rack in front with a Wald basket so its able
to be my grocery getter and I also ride other places. I have a 700c that I
haven't used this season setup for road with Phil hubs its fun

I ride alone 99 percent of the time. I ride my ss if I'm only riding on a short
15 miles ride without a ton of incline. If I'm riding further into the country
I take my geared bike for the hills at until I'm in better shape I only have
short spurts of dirt and gravel available from my house. So
I really enjoy my Handsome Fredward singlespeed with Phil hubs. It's currently
not a Rivendell but it is a nice enough frame and fork for a good price. Good

As far back as Pineapple Bob I have been a fan. I remember entering the contest
for what I don't remember pertaining to Pineapple Bob. I have ordered many
items along the way. I had a Bleriot and a Sam at one point. I have always
longed for a Quickbeam because I enjoy riding SS. Maybe someday
I decided to go without fenders so I could use my Bon Jon Compass tires which I
adore. I have Compass tires on my 650B as well. I'm using a medium Donut Sack
bag in front and my medium Sackville in back which will help in the event of
rain. Thanks for the great thoughts! A small dusting of snow
In the winter I run narrower tires because of fenders and I'm currently using
Jack Brown Blue. I really like Compass tires and have not tried the Compass
tires in the same width. I ride mixed surfaces but mostly pavement. If you have

I love my SS with 38 Barlow Pass tires it’s my go to bike. I currently have a
Donutsack rear bag and a front small bag. With White Industries freewheel it
couldn’t be any better. I tend to take it over my geared bikes.

My Pumpkin Ridge tires are as comfortable as my Baby Shoe Pass tires and were

Not the same but I grind mine the night before then float a cheesecloth bag I
found mine at NG’s and leave it in your Kleen Canteen overnight and take it
with you on your bike. Take the bag home and dispose of the grounds in your

It’s my Fredward(Handsome)singlespeed and I know it can take 40 without fenders
and will take fenders with the Compass Barlow Pass so it’s pretty versatile to
just use the Compass tires! I do love the Barlow’s!

What would be a good choice for a 40mm tire comparable to a Compass tire? I can
get a Compass Barlow 38mm pI would like it to be a bit larger if a good choice

I had a Brooks saddle that had the same issue and I had to give it away because
one of the rivets was raised to much and they would not warrant the saddle so I
carefully tried to sand the rivet down which wasn’t enough for me.The person I
gave it to wears jeans so he has made do with it.

I put a pic up in a post about an hour ago. I’m thinking the rear dropouts need
to change and take the cable stops off. I probably need to look at the
Quickbeam version. A local builder built it for me and he would make the
changes. I would be doing rattle can until later on the touch ups. Any
Patrick I’m going to change mine as well and I’m taking it in to my builder

I decided to reimagine my 650B so my Sam and the 650B were not so similar. It
is now a single speed and I have had SS bikes off and on for a long time. I
know I coast more than usual however it’s the perfect gear for the hills around
here. I really love the simplicity.

gearing on your fixed cogs by making these changes? You might have answered
this question or is it easier for you to use fenders? Either way the colors are
spectacular.
