I like my Sam, its my "gravel" bike, so its also my road bike. However I
think I'd have gone with a Roadini if I wasn't interested in touring.

Hi All,
I'm thinking about this rack, but I'm a little shy to pull the trigger
since its not adjustable. It seems sturdier than the M-18 and I like he
look. Does anyone run this on a Sam, did it fit without issue? I run Paul
Mini Moto brakes, I dont expect an issue there but who knows.

I think you're better off with a Sam. I love that it can ride any terrain a
"gravel bike" can but it does so while feeling like a road bike and not
some sort of cross breed.

The clem is a great bike capable of almost anything but it prefers to be
treated as a diesel engine work horse. I'd look for something more lively and

Why not have Waterford build you something lighter if weight is a concern?
Certainly they're not too obscure a company for RBW folk. I think for a
lightweight road frame the roadeo cost more than it's worth. It's a weird
starting point for a lightweight build. But I guess sub 20lb isn't
I think the real problem here is the Roadeo is simply outclassed in it's price
bracket. You could easily get a custom geo steel road bike with a carbon fork
fork less. If the plan is a lightweight steel build I'd say there are way
better choices for your money.

I've been using the 38x700c extra light on my salsa vaya for the past few
seasons for both on and off road ride. This fall I switched out to surly
knards. On my first ride I rolled the front tire while cornering very hard at
speed and went down pretty hard. I'll likely be putting this Compass

As of Jan 1 Waterford up their prices across the board. I know this because I
ordered one prior to the price increase. I was looking at a Gunnar Roadie but
then my shop informed me that with all the specs I requested it would be the
same price as a Waterford UNTIL JAN 1. So it worked out for
Salsa vaya ;)

For SS/FG you either want bullhorns, which would look horrible on a riv or
drops, ideally with hoods. If you plan to do any climbing on this bike you need
those hood positions for leverage out of the saddle
