Eric, Sach's decade long waiting list is a recent invention from frame building's explosion in popularity around the late 00s / early 10s. It wasn't always that difficult to have him build you a bike. In the 90s I believe he designed some lugs for Rivendell, and then later made 3 frames or so

Seems like they cleaned it up a bit and added compass tires and wipers (the ones in the original listing look like they were dry rotted and no good). Wouldn't be surprised if there was some other mechanical issues that needed sorting. Should move quick in a hot market like SF!

I run 43mm Gravelkings on my 55 canti sam w/fenders and they fit fine. I think the 50mm would probably squeeze in (assuming they are a slick tire, and not knobby), but you'd be leaving very little room for any debris. That might be an issue if your wheel is ever slightly out of true or dish.
