Tom, I've got Campagnolo setups on my Rambouillet and my Ritchey racing
bike, and like it, but it's not all that Riv-ish.
The best reason to use Campy (my opinion only) is to use Ergolevers, if you
really want integrated levers. I like the 9-speed stuff a lot and have
adapted 10-speed levers
Sold.
Thanks,

This is such a good discussion, because it points out that Grant P. is
looking out for his customers. If someone asked me, which builder
would you rather have -- Waterford or Toyo? -- I'd say, sure. It's
nice that Waterford is U.S.-based, but I look at it as supporting
Rivendell first, and I'll

Oh, and the chainstay bridge was drilled and tapped to mount a fender.
The clearance between the stays is quite narrow, however, and I can't
see squeezing a fender in there -- currently I have a tab extending
from the fender to the bridge.

I like the Flyer a lot for certain bikes. If the bike already has a
cushy ride then it's probably overkill. I use the Flyer to smooth out
the kick from an otherwise stiff bike. or put another way, to soften
the ride. The spring action is rather subtle, however. After awhile I
don't notice it
