I cannot decipher the serial numbers. My best guess would be Curt Goodrich
whom Riv contracted for custom builds around that time.

My Rivendell/Curt Goodrich custom, circa 2001, has the initials CG in the
serial number. Other serial numbers I've seen also have the initials of
the builder (i.e. JS/Joe Starck, MN/Mark Nobilette). Not sure who RE would
besomebody at Match?
