Hey Riv folks (x-post with the iBOB list, apologies if you see it twice)-

A burgeoning interest in off-road riding has me selling my Salsa Casseroll
road bike to fund potential explorations in the MTB realm. Not exactly
Rivendell, but I've always thought of this bike as my poor man's
Rambouillet, being a versatile and comfortable road bike with high
handlebars and good clearances. This is a early 2008 (caliper-brake) frame
and fork that I bought new, having built and re-built it many times. It is
the largest size, with the seat tube measuring 59cm center-top, but a
sloping top tube and long head tube mean the frame fits like a traditional
62cm frame. Salsa "Classico" chromoly tubing.

The frame uses 47-57mm reach brakes, allowing for a ~28mm tire with fenders
and a ~37mm tire without; it currently has 28mm Ruffy Tuffy tires and SKS
P35 fenders.

Having long campy-style horizontal dropouts, I ran it for a long time as a
fixed gear road bike, but in the past couple of years I've settled on a 2x7
derailleur setup. It has an eclectic but really functional mix of parts,
including 7spd Shimano 600 DT shifters and derailleurs indexing perfectly
with 7 of 8spds on a Campagnolo Athena cassette rear hub, Sugino XD 48/36
double crank, Shimano A550 front brake, Dia-Compe single pivot rear brake,
Tektro R200 levers with gum hoods, Salsa Cowbell bars, Thomson Elite
setback seat post.

This is a definitely used but well-maintained bike; I'm a professional
mechanic and like to keep my own bikes ship shape, if not perfectly clean.
There is some minor paint wear on the downtube, top of the seat tube, and
seat stays, but no rust.

Price is $750 OBO. Local pickup in the SF Bay Area (I'm in Berkeley) is
preferred, but if you're really interested and not local we can work out
something for shipping. Feel free to contact with any other questions.
