Just to follow up on this thread, I picked up the Sunrace 11-40 8 speed
cassette and put in on my new Jones. With a longer B tension screw, it
shifts OK, but is a bit slow and noisy. I haven't tried it on the trail
yet, though... to much rain around these parts.

I just found this on Amazon independently and was going to throw out a query...
Thrilled to see the community already 'knows' and that it is getting some use
by riv riders... I'd been wanting to go 8 speed on my Jones that had a nice 11
speed 42t max cassette right now and this is the ticket. I
I also have a Sugino 94/58 here saying”build me up as an ultracompact double or
triple” lately.

As we graduate to more hauling of stuff and less joyriding I have a 28ish ring
on there. As it stands my wife and I aren’t comfortable with riding out of our
neighborhood so in order to mileage I have to drive the bike to a place to
ride. This avoids most hills so far. Plus I did some pretty imp
I'm running this cassette with the mountain tamer 18t, 26t, and something else
up front with kid hauling confidence. Save your knees.

The Road Link is from JGbike and comes with the cassette when ordered from the
big A. I have an extra around here if you need it.
The derailleur is an M760. Not sure if cage length.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't have any idea this existed. This might be just
the thing for upcoming "budget" Jones LWB build.

derailleur and chain already. The cassette came with a generi
