I have 32,s on it now. Not a tremendous amount of clearance. But that's ok. I
have my Bleriot for that. I might try the Rambouillet as 650b some time. But I
want to run it 700c at first.

My concerns are probably more down to nervousness about tire-to-fender
clearance. I mostly ride without fenders in not-very-rainy California, and
don't like them much when I do.

There was a change to clearances I believe. Later Rams had more tire clearance.
My Redwood (a larger Romulus) will fit 38mm tires - 32mm tires with fenders fit
nicely.

Hmm, I guess my Romulus had tighter clearances than the Ram. Or I'm sensitive
about clearance between tire and fender. So never mind!

Edit: Is there a P35 fender? I think that's what I had.

I did this with same tires and fenders on a Romulus, a very similar Riv frame.
My memory is vague about exactly what I did, but a lot of cutting and zip-ties
were involved, and it still wasn't a great arrangement. In my opinion you can
have 32 tires or fenders on that bike, but not both. 28 is
Building up my new to me blue 54 Rambouillet and 32mm tires fit with clearance
but P45 fenders are too bulky for the frame.
What are you using on yours? Did you have to cut them to clear chain stays?
