I know for sure that I'm going to build new wheels and I will use the 666mm wide Crust drop bars, everything else is still to be decided. I'm wondering about tires as I want the fattest, fastest tires I can find and I'm not sure what all the options are nowadays. Will the new Compass 700x55s fit? I'm tempted to do a fancy/hip 1x10 build, but it's more likely that I'll do a partial vintage build to save money (this would mean taking apart one or two other bikes that mostly just get ridden around the neighborhood).
I plan to use it as a fair weather commuter, long day with packed lunch rider, and adventure/expedition/S24 if I can figure out where to go. I have the time to do a couple 2-3 night tours a summer if I have all my stuff together. Where to go on a trip like that while leaving from Indianapolis is another problem/post. Racks and Bags?
