I run mine 1x11 with a 44 chainring up front and 46t cassette in the rear.

I'm running 1x11 on a Kona Rove, with a 42 up front and a 11-50 in the
back. SRAM Rival brifter and rear mech. It's very close to the same gear
inch spread as a 44/24 with a 11-32. The clutch on the rear mech is great
for dirt roads.

I'm running 1x8 on mine... well, sort of. 46-30 double with no front
derailleur and an 12-28 cassette. Works fine, no complaints here in flat
Louisiana and in not-so-flat St. Francisville. I would say that Roadinis
make uniquely good candidates for 1x because their long chainstays decrease

My Roadini has a gear inch spread of 29.1" to 114" on 700/32 with a 46/30 &
