I think the photo on the Riv site of the white and red Roadeo with Sram
Force components did this to me. I'm currently saving for one now. I love
my Sam Hillborne, but the Roadeo will fit some of the faster riding I am
doing much better.

Tim - Just saw this; thanks. How does the Atlantis look for fenders
with the 60s? What are the actual measurements between the fork legs
and stays at max tire width?
Anyone want to trade a trike for an Atlantis???
Used the Fargo with 35 mm Kojaks to go to Presanctified (ie, reserved
Eucharist)

It's funny but the two bikes you picked, the dark green Atlantis and the

Personally, I think the Hunqapillar has replaced the Atlantis as my
ultimate goal. I don't know exactly why, maybe it's that extra bit of
ruggedness + the Diagatube.

So, ye of multiple Riv fat tire bike knowledge: compare ye the Hunq,
the Bomb and the Atl and describe the ride differences on- and
off-road in excruciating and unmitigated detail.
I see that the Bomb takes 60s with room to spare and that the Atl don't; Hunq?
Would love to have a Riv to replace
Patrick,
All I know is the Atlantis. I've got 60mm Big Apples on my 58 right now
with plenty of clearance and I've run fairly knobby 2.2s or so. I can look
in the am for clearance details with the BAs if you like. I think you
would love the Atlantis for everything you do.

Tim
On Wed,
Same here; Atlantis is my only data point. Biggest tires I've used
are 40 mm so I've got lots of extra room. Here in So Cal the sandy
stretches are short. Off-road is mostly clay adobe that isn't much
different than concrete, so road tires are fine. I like the ride with
the 40 mm Marathon
This discussion is making me think that in a year or so if things settle
down, maybe should be looking at an Atlantis again. Are times when I miss
the one I sold, although it was seriously too small for me. At my weight
at the time, it worked. Took less effort to get on and off. Doesn't
With all of this Atlantis lust you guys have got me wondering...
Being one of those too tall for the Atlantis, I've never ridden one. How
does it ride compared to the AHH?

I have, and coincidentally it was also an Atlantis. It was Tom's Atlantis.
Even though I'm not an Alba-bar guy, this is the bike that convinced me to
start saving up for an Atlantis

An Atlantis will do that to you! Thanks for the link. That's a great

This happens to me too often. I should spend more time riding and less
time leering.
That is indeed a fabulous looking Atlantis, and it looks like it could take
you around the world.
I'd better go ride now...

If it ever comes down to me owning only one bicycle (which I hope it

I just took a stroll through photos I have book marked and found an
interesting correlation. There are two specific bikes that led me to
Rivendell.
What I see now is clearly a simple math equation:

Gun-to-the-head-you-only-get-one-bike: my Atlantis, no hesitation.
It's all a matter of what you need a specific bike to do, and my
Atlantis does everything I need to accomplish. The only mission that
would be s severe stretch would be go-fast with truly fast people.
Fortunately for me, few of
