Brakes and tires available now were not when the Road and Road Standard were sold, so the bike wasn't designed for them. If converted to 650B, they will just squeeze 38mm tires in or you can run Maxy Fasty (33.4) with fenders. Several of us here on the list have converted to 650B and I've only h

I think the 33mm jack browns are the safe bet, and that they were designed by riv specicically, or at least partly, with the ram in mind as a bigger-than-anything-else-theretofore-available retrofit.On my later blue ram, which obviously isn't an accurate comparison, those fit with fenders.
