I wonder what gall soap is. I just wipe with a damp towel, and am always
careful to air dry thoroughly. I don't worry about newsage.

All ORTLIEB products may be cleaned with warm water and mild soap. Please
do not use solvents, alcohol or acid cleaners. You may also use gall soap
and a soft brush to clean your Ortlieb product.

The shiny ones are a coated fabric so I wouldn't get too aggressive with
the cleaning. The worst ones I ever saw were with a guy who'd been on the
road 2 or 3 years continuously. They were originally black but looked like
faded charcoal canvas, with little coating left. The only giveaway was
Keekp riding with um. Beausage. You and they earned it!
