I second Jeff’s suggestion. Mine usually get the opposite problem- a tip that
never fully seals and then leaks all over me when I tilt it. I always just swap
in another lid. They are all the purist bottles, aren’t they?

I am not picturing the bottle so I cannot say other than throw the top in
the dishwasher if you have one.
Otherwise, bottles that have the squeeze valve like Camelback Podium and
the SBI Purist are very nice. They never leak and all you do is open your
mouth and squeeze, no mouth contact
Use a lid from another bottle? Many of mine are interchangeable.
