Many tandems are designed with more rake/less trail due to different
handling forces than a single. I suspect this might apply even more to a
sub-700c frame designed for fat tires & upright bars.

At least part of my motivation for getting the tandem is enticing the wife
to ride more (She is a "fair-weather" leisure rider, with a justifiable
dose of bike shop owner's wife resentment)I'll let you gentlemen know
how that works out and I'll be sure to share pics :-)
