Yep Andy I like em both! Both have something different to offer...though
looking forward to a local S240 in the Angeles Forest soon.

I enjoy the city and the country experience. I always had a bike when I
lived in the southland, but my range was quite small. Seeing all the pics
from the LA, OC and SD areas make me realize how much I missed. One of my
favorite things about this list are the range of environs people are riding
David, walked about 20 feet from the concert venue I was at, and I'll be
darned, I accidentally found Stumptown today.
Weird coincedence. Pictures to prove it

Popped this into google maps and selected bicycle. I had to laugh.
Their selected route on W.Sunset takes you within two blocks of Laur
el and Hardy park. Neither you nor Evan tend toward those two characters,
but it struck my funny bone to see it on the map.
Looks like you had a good time
I love bikes! What a wondrously different experience and scenery than I'll
likely ever have on the bike (baring brain healing, the sound of the city
would do me in in seconds), but the bike takes us each where we are going.
Thanks for sharing the city art and ride.

Thanks Deacon...not that I want to experience the city environs often but
you work with what you have. I find the city has much to offer but of
course I'd choose 9 times out of 10 to spend time in locals such as yours.
IMHO the bicycle is a magical way to transport one self through all sorts

Pre brain injury I was never much of a city person, though I went to
university in Denver, but I always loved visiting them. I can't say I miss
it, but seeing the various pictures here reminds we what isn't an option.
It's great to experience it vicariously, be it LA, Portland, Seattle, or DC.
Good day for a ride and not quite as hot as the desert.
my camera battery was lost early in the ride (not so interesting story), so
all the picture taking was done by Hugh.
After seeing Hugh off in China town, I rode to Union Station - a few
trains were cancelled so I rode around for a few
And now there's one more reason to go riding around downtown LA (at
least on the weekend):

BTW, don't forget CicLAvia is coming up on 10/6:

stumptown is my favorite. will it be open for 10/6?
Mike:
thanks for sharing that contraption with me. I have a collapsable plastic
one.
sort of wonder if there is some weight savings. Anyhow, it's a way classier
and possibly more compact
mechanism.

Open seven days a week, so imagine they'll be doing some brisk
business on the 6th, although off the designated route a bit.
