Having (ex) in-laws from Illinois and Nebraska, I can tell you that Surly is John Deere green & yellow, so technically a machine. But not machine green. It is nomenclature, like a lot of color names, that has quite a bit of latitude. Which is why graphic designers, etc. use Pantone codes
