Erl, I like the bar-tape idea. I always keep a black cloth roll around for projects, so I'll slap some on the rack. I already have the straps zip-tied down in the hopes of stabilizing them a bit..maybe the tape will help. I hope so 'cause I don't know how to do the other ideas. -- You receive

Joe, Would wrapping the rack rails with bar tap, thus giving a larger diameter in the are the snap strap covers, allow for a tighter hold? Erl -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving

Yes! Andy's fix was to replace the leather straps with wider leather. I'm hoping to get away with using the same straps so I don't need to do any riveting and custom leather work, which involve purchases of tools I don't have and wouldn't use very oft. I'm hoping twoprongs will be "strong enoug

I have two slicker sacks and love the bag. One has the original snaps and the other buckles. The buckles hold it more securely to the rack. I bought mine from Zach who credited Andy Schmidt with the buckle job: https://plus.google.com/photos/113148323994353762329/albums/5732163361477605809?ba

I called the Buckleguy and sent them pictures of my TrunkSack. Here's what I learned: This: http://www.buckleguy.com/3016-antique-brass-turn-lock-solid-brass-four-piece-set/ -- is as wide as the leather strap (3/4"), so the width pierce bits will mount to to the outside of the strap while the l

Hmm, sewing or adding buckle things..kinda outta my league. I suppose I could lash it down with my bright red bungee net, but I might as well strap (zip-tie!) a basket to the rack if I'm going to need the net. Oy! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW

I essentially have the same challenge with the small and large trunk sacks. I use a small bungee to secure it to the rack in addition to the snaps because washboard and rocks have a way of shaking those puppies off. I imagine the issue is more frequent with the slicksack because volume grows ex

Years back I saw somebody sewed on Velcro in place of the leather snap loops. I have that combo but have not done the mod yet. Sewing on webbing and fastek buckles is another idea. On Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 12:35:37 PM UTC-7, Joe Bernard wrote: > > I recently installed the SlickerSack/Pl
