Just moccasins. Come winter. These are for running in the wet cold
(25˚F-45˚F) of Autumn and Spring. THese don't grip a smooth oak pedal like
my barefoot or the leather does.

Patrick,
Do you or someone you know make the moccasins or do you purchase them? I've
been taking my lunch walks through the park barefoot enjoy it. I wear
pretty minimal (ish) Teva sandals most days and I'd like to do more similar

I have a friend who swears by these folks for information and shoes.

I've been trying to get a casual cycling shoe made by these folks out in
Mariposa. They make really nice moccasins for hunting and renaissance
faires. I have a pair of the 2 button boots.

Mike, your friend is right -- that's a great site for info.
Eric, my moccasins are made by Bonnie at http://beyondcomfort.com. She made
our family's moccasins a style not on her site, a below the ankle with

Your right, Ron, room for toe and forefoot splay is critical. I like to
have an extra 1/4-1/2 width (total from both sides) on the sides, as the
foot splays that much when running. I'm glad you've found what works for
you.

thanks for the tips patrick! i think those unshoes look like they might be
a bit better, i like the option of being able to wear socks and wear them
when it's cooler.

Sure, Zack. Injinji toe socks are always an option too. Their wool socks

Vivobarefoot makes a very nice shoe and they have lots of models. I'm on my

Merrills are very lightweight and with substantial support - (I have
high-arch ice-skate feet). Proterras are my choice for Grip King pedals.

Merrill also has a line of barefoot shoes (I know, right?!), which have far
less to no cushioning or support. My only problem with them is they are

flat feet and had needed orthotics since I was 12. My feet strengthened

I'm riding with the pedal centered on my arch. The Proterra Sports are as
light as sandals and have all the support I need on my grip kings.
The Loulus are supposed to be pretty nice for minimalist office-wear:

I haven't tried those specifically, but I ran in huaraches (that same

I love the Soft Star Runamoc and Runamoc Dash- mostly running and casual. I
have several pairs and they have held up to daily wear for a few years. Nice
