I still have my '82 Stump Jumper. The chain stays are pretty long a 18.5
inches, which allows it to pass the fist between the seat tube and tire
test. The top tube is really long too at 23.75 inches. I currently have it
set up as a Raleigh Sports inspired city bike, black powdered coat paint,
I think the Appaloosa is A LOT like the old Stumpjumpers. The really old
stumpies LONG chain stays back in the early days. I think that anyone that
has an upright bar on an Atlantis would be really comfortable on the
appaloosa due to the longer stays. Love the colors and the fork crown!

And the original Stumpjumper was a LOT like the Ritchey/Padgett bikes. Just
saying.

I wouldn't be surprised if her new favorite bike changed after some time on
the Appaloosa. Keep us posted on that issue. I can hear it now: "Now I
get why you get all fizzed up about this Rivendell thing." You're a good
man.
