So... that's all I was noodling on. I couldn't rationally explain the extra $2500 I spent, but I just knew that I couldn't be happier having done it. OK, time to stop typing and go out riding. Hell, you got off lightly. I've had 3 customs and I ride 4K miles in a good year (usually closer to

The money we spend and how we choose to spend it. Sheesh. I have a Joe S./Curt/Joe B. Rivendell custom that was damaged in a collision. While it was away for repair, I put almost all the parts on a (Panasonic-built?) Schwinn World Voyageur frame so I could continue riding to work. It was pretty

You buy them books, and sometime all they do is eat the bindings. Which is fine, it that's your thing. We all have our things. I expect that since your friend never rides, he spends his time doing something else that he's passionate about. I'd find out about that and move on. On Apr 4, 7:36 am,

Well Buck , Why is the Atlantis better than a given bike? This is where human kind is all stupid. It's a brand name. Our imaginations go wild with perceived benefits to buying X brand or thing. We're taught this from birth via monkey see-monkey copy. What if you found yourself a great bike,

Why is a Martin D-28 more than a Guild D-4? (Guitars) Why is an Astin Martin more than a Mazda 3? (Cars) Why is a Chris-Craft more than an Alumacraft? (boats) Okay, overly simplistic. There is a difference to folks that are interested in that stuff. And to many, that difference is worth the
