Now that you mention it, Corwin it's more accurate to say that the tap has

as frames under his own name.

I was ready to spring for a custom a couple month ago, and reached out to
get started. I was informed they were no longer building customs, so I came
up with a plan B and found a bike similar to what I would have had built -
an early Davidson touring bike that checked all the boxes: lugged steel
I was aware that Grant was scaling back on customs when I asked if I could
get a replacement frame. I do consider myself lucky to be able to get
something to replace the custom I lost. I'm not sure the tap is actually
"turned off". I have seen several customs mentioned in the weekly email
newsl

AFAIK Rivendell isn't even offering customs any more...unless someone
closer to Walnut Creek knows differently. Customs aren't on the site

Point of clarification...
The price of a new custom is currently $5K. I agree that the price for this
frame is high - especially given much of the value of a custom frame is in
the fidelity to the sizing and riding of the person the frame was designed
for. I paid $2700 for my first custom about

I emailed the OP off-list, but haven't gotten a response.
In that email, I recommended to the OP that he could easily sell the Nitto
27F front rack separately, since pretty much any 700C Rivendell could use
that rack and that rack is excellent. I offered $200 shipped for the rack

Golly gee willikers, that background looks very familiar to me, maybe some
of the parts as well.
Could it be the same background that was behind my

What model is the Riv? I'm interested but need more details, particularly
standover height and some sense of what the widest tire I can fit on the
bike is. If you aren't sure, I'll contact Rivendell with model info myself
and ask.
Thanks

Prices below. I might be willing to ship, but I am going to try to sell
them in the SF Bay Area first.

Great bunch of bikes! Do you have any idea on pricing and are you willing
to ship?

Looks like you're having way too much fun for a 600K. Where are the nighttime
shots? The bleary, sleep-deprived expressions? The extra-large coffees?

Okay, gang. I dug deep, found the funds and built the bike. I
couldn't make it through the week with that frame just sitting there
on the couch. Here are some pictures my friend took on our 600K in
Italy, TX this weekend. I wish I had more detail shots, but I don't
actually own a camera. All o
Wow, that is such a nice looking bike. No way could I restrain
myself.

That's a beauty. I'd have a tough time waiting another year to build
it up.
Of course, for such a frame, components should be carefully
considered:) How are you going to build it up?
Not bad turnaround time, considering that only Mark Nobilette
building for Rivendell, and he has his RH gig , too
It took a little over a year for the frame to be built (which was
fine-- I needed that time to pay it off!) Then there was the wait on
the paint which was longer than I expected, but you don't rush
perfection. All told, about 15 months from when I placed the order.
That's not a very long wait whe
Jeff,
Nice color and frame. How long is the wait from beginning till now?
Thanks,

That's right. As I said about a year ago on the topic, I used to
think I wanted a Herse. In the process of getting my girlfriend a
Bleriot and reading through my run of the RR, I fell in love with
Rivendell. Once I discovered that Nobilette was building the customs,
it seemed I could have a sort
Nice. So these are Nobilette built framesets?

That looks great! Good luck holding out on that build.
My custom is at Joe Bell's shop right now so it shouldn't be too much
longer for me.
Have fun,
