Gino,
Look forward to the Hetre report. Could be good news for some Sam H.
and canti-Luki owners. Maybe after this Great Depression, Riv can
expand their line of super round, great ridin', checker board pattern
tires (Roly Poly, Jack Brown, etc.) into the fatty 650b realm.

Good to hear you've had a positive experience with the Hetre.

I have tons of miles on the Cypres and the Hetres without a single

The casings are actually different; the Hetre is thicker and has a bit
more tread, which is likely why they're more durable.

Thanks for posting Gino. I've thought about these on my Protovelo,
which is a custom, but modeled after a Saluki. I run CdlVs too, and
the width of the Hetres I'm not worried about - its the height. I've
imagined that my seat stay bridge is a little on the low side - but
maybe not. Much
I haven't measured them yet, but will today because I need to
recalibrate my computer. I'll let you know. They do look bulbous
height-wise.
I was actually planning on running them without fenders over the
rainless California summer, but then the fenders just fit, so woo!

I just checked. On the Synergy rim, the CDLV diameter is about 2030.
The Hetre is about 2065. (mm)

I don't have a bike set up at present to take the Hetres, but do run
the Cypres Green on my fendered winter fixed gear. I didn't have such
great luck with the first set of Cypres I had. A number of flats
deflated my confidence in them. I did remember the quality of the ride
though, and
Is the brake bridge higher on the canti-'luki than non-canti? Can't
think why it would be. I tried Hetres with 50mm Berthouds on my
Bleriot and the brake bridge is where clearance was lost.
