I've done something similar with zip ties and a cheap plastic lunch cooler
from walmart. The one I have has a full plastic tub inside for extra
rigidity or ice. I have a clear pencil case sewn and velcro'd to the top
for a map case as well (not shown) - zipper is too hard to use while
ridding
Interesting. I too have an Arkel bag which we tried on three different
bikes, always with negative results. I considered trying to mount it
lower, to a rack. The zip ties don't excite me though as I often want to
take the bag off to see / work on the front brakes or tighten something up.
