I find the Panaracer T-serve in 650bx42 to be a nice balance between durability
and comfort. Not as supple as Rene Herse/Compass tired but way less stiff than,
say, Schwalbe Marathon and the like. And pretty affordable.

I rode Barlow Pass el on all kinds of dirt roads and trails around here. Are
there ones that are too much for them? Sure. That's why I shifted to Steilacoom
els and never looked back. Ride the slicks to the nub the shift to Rene Herse
nobbies is my suggestion.

Now that my Appaloosa is sold, I'll be dependent on my road bike until the
Boots lands (6 long months perhaps). This road bike been converted (ie
Rivified) to 650b and Boscos. I have Babyshoe Pass tires tubeless on it at
the moment. It rides very nice. They feel a bit too delicate for grave
