If you are up to heading west a bit, I highly recommend the Banks-Vernonia trail. Full round trip is 42 miles; railroad grade climb out of Banks for 11 miles, then down (except for Tophill; short, totally doable) to Vernonia, where you should stop and eat at the Black Bear Coffee Company/Black

My girlfriend and I are taking a road trip up to Portland in a couple weeks and bringing our bikes. We plan on riding around fairly leisurely and enjoying a great town. I've been before but never had the pleasure of having my Riv (or any bike for that matter) with me. Any tips? Good routes,
