Organic tobacco stores differently than processed pipe tobacco (even the
natural stuff that has no chemicals or pesticides added after curing).
You store it dry and dark and it will continue to age (a good thing). If
you store it humidified at 70% (like in a humidor) it will easily mold

Pipe. This sort?

15 years after quitting a 25 year cigarette habit I was very tempted to
take up a pipe (again) when a friend gave me a very nice briar and a can of
top unscented Virginia. I didn't, though.
Tell me why I shouldn't take it up again.
I have to say that
Here's some reasons not to take up a pipe:
Lip cancer, tongue cancer, stomach cancer, throat cancer are probly associated
with hitting the pipette...
Though it does conjure up romantic ideas of British cycling

Aye, Patrick, that sort of pipe.
I was delighted to find organic whole leaf Virginia tobacco (cured three
years) finally available after being relegated to cigars for about a year
as that was the only organic I could find. Wow is that wonderful stuff.
De-stem it, fold/roll it into a cigar
Actually, I can and have and likely will again not smoke a pipe for months
on end. No addiction to is whatsoever, save for the pleasure of the
experience.

Dare I ask what it is yoou are smoking in that pipe? For most of us tobacco is
one of the most addsictxive substances on earth, far more so than heroin. Now
cannabis, on the other hand...

Organic whole leaf Virginia tobacco (cured three years). I wouldn't touch
cannabis. Quite common for pipe (and cigar) smokers to not be addicted like
cigarette smokers. Entirely different beasties.

You would be far better off smoking either
Och! Nae. I'd not want to deplete your stash, Steve. Grin. Besides, it

I've smoked a pipe, but not in many years. Does the tobacco go stale if you
keep it around for months? I'm intrigued by the idea of whole leaf organic, as
you describe.

Pipe tobacco will last a long time. Even years if in an air tight
container. They even make these little moisture tabs you can stick to the
lid. I agree, smoking a pipe is one of life's simple pleasures.
Contemplative. I'll smoke mine maybe once a month. There are bike rides and
