I've never used a Columbine Quikchainger before, but an seat stay chain hanger peg requires the chain to be manually put on the peg. That means using a tool or stick or your fingers to do it. Assuming the peg is well positioned and your rear derailleur can take up all the slack when the wheel

I had a custom chain catcher brazed on the chainstay of my '99 and, while it works, the old-fashioned seatstay-mount peg would be more useful, at least for a fixed/ss drivetrain, since it keeps the chain high and off the ground. Failing that, I wish I'd asked for a distinct L shape for the
