Not a problem at all. Have ridden in either Red Wing or Merrill boots depending on the weather. The only boots I haven't tried are my Sorrel. No reason they wouldn't work. Just don't often bike in weather that needs that type of boot anymore. Eric Platt St. Paul, MN -- You received this

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it. The issue for me has always been that the boots feel so heavy when I am even walking. I am into minimalist sneakers, tends to help my pronation. I guess I would have to go for some light weight boot that would hopefully give me the best of both worlds.

Peter, if I may I'll push you a bit. Go biking and hiking in your minimalist shoes. I climb mountains barefoot. Ankle support is not necessary and is actually a hinderance, weakening the ankle and surrounding systems. Feel free to email me off group if you have questions about minimalist
