FWIW, I've had some luck with squirting dogs with water bottles; not that
I've been chased by very many...

I've never heard of snap and pops, so looked it up:

The only thing that makes me nervous sometimes while riding is dogs, and if
these might dissuade a mutt in pursuit then I want some. Where can I buy
some? I live in Indiana in case that matters.

Here in MD you can buy them at convenience stores. I wonder if they are a fire
hazard in NM and thats why you cant get them there.

I've played with the poppers in Delhi; as a boy, we'd shoot them from the
backseats of taxis with slingshots at passers by, stupid little shits that
we were. I've not seen them in this country.
It looks as if Amazon has or had them.
