If you like the cap -- I have one and I love mine -- you can get them
directly from the maker. http://www.randijofab.com/ Formerly known as
Rainy Peak Cyclery, it's now Randi Jo's Fabrications.
I'm very curious how y'all can see out from under those long bills. When I
pull a cap down snugly enough to keep it on my head (I do have thick and
more than shoulder length hair in a pony tail, so my hats have to be firmly
in place) the bill blocks my vision unless I am sitting bolt upright.

Randi Jo's caps have very short bills -- but when I wear one under a
helmet I have it turned backwards, where it does not obscure my vision

Hi all, I'm heading to Washington DC tomorrow for a business trip full
of lectures and wondering if folks know of Rivvish bikes shops where I
can find relief from tedium? I may have my Bike Friday with me.

When I lived in the DC area, College Park Bikes in Maryland was one of
my favorite bike shops. You can take the Metro out there from DC.
It's sister shop, Mount Airy Bicycles, is also neat, but is a bit

I agree about College Park Bikes. I was last there in 2004 and they had a
huge selection of beautiful older steel frames that made it sort of a
gallery of fine bicycle art that was worth the visit alone.

Can't think of the name of it, but there is a very nice shop there
chock full of Brooks saddles and classic bikes. I bought several old
bike posters there.
It's not in the downtown, but a few miles away in a more residential
area.

Whoops - I can't make it.
I'm disappointed - I was very much looking forward to the ride, the
bikes, and most of all, of course, meeting everyone in person.
The totally stupid reason I'll miss it? The one car rental place in
McMinnville closes at noon on Saturday. My Own Damn Fault, of course,

Took the P-Ms out for a second Metric over some very rough roads in addition to
smoother ones. Rode it over gravel as well. No flats, very comfy, got approving
comments from my skinnier tired companions. Just as fast as my times 5 years

Yet another vote for College Park Bikes. Was out there in 2008 and
enjoyed the experience.
Plus, College Park is a cool place.

It was a gorgeous day in Seattle, and I got out for my first longish
ride on my Saluki, the 50+ mile Lake Washington Loop. I LOVE this bike!
A few thoughts: Everything everyone says about the Rivendell Ride is
true. The bike feels great--smooth, tracks well, turns, climbs and

That's funny--this is the second Saluki formerly owned by John F. to
