I'm usually not an alarmist, but I've been stockpiling parts since last April. I hope to ride rim brakes and 8 speed friction until I can't ride anymore, which I hope is 35-40 years from now. It was tough seeing all the shimano and sunrace 8 speed cassettes with a 34t dry up or go for way too
