Ryan you are absolutely right about walking away. I was having lot of
trouble setting up the brakes and that was the last thing I needed to do
before the first test ride. I took a break and came back to it and now they
working pretty well. I got to make my test ride in the dark but it was

After having taken a couple of rides on and off-road with my Bombadil, and
after seeing many pictures of Bombadil and Atlantis bikes with sprung
saddles, I've begun wondering if putting a Champion Flyer saddle on the
Bombadil is a good move. Obviously on the road the B-17 feels fine, but
off-road
I have a Champion Flyer on my commuter. I doubt I'd buy another one.
While you can still attach a large saddle bag to the saddle, because
of the springs you can't attach a smaller bag such as a Barley or XS
Sackville. It's also very heavy. I find B-17s to be pretty darn comfy
without the springs.
I have one for sale if you or anyone else is interested... $60 + shipping to
find out if it works for you!!! What a bargain!
I find the springs are nice and take a little bit of the edge off, but the
tops are too soft for my taste (different leather than B17???).
