Fortunately that name and perceived negative association their marketing

Cant speak personally, I only ever ran hetres on mine with 52mm fenders. It

I have run Hetres (42mm nominal and true) and Force Field fatty Rumpkins (41mm

have run Pacenti Quasi-Motos (nominal 51mm; I never measured true on the rim)

Hear Hear, I recently bought a Soma Grand Randonneur to replace my bombadil

Tight welds, nice thick paint, nice alloy headbadge, threading for fenders,
lowrider mounts, double eyelets on the dropouts, etc. Its a great frame,
The best Faux-Badge of all time is the one Mike Varley puts on his Black

I doubt it's a question of strength. I've never sheared a rack bolt,
I've carried some heavy loads. I prefer stainless for it's better
corrosion resistance but have never had a carbon steel bolt rust in place
either. Note there are a couple of grades of stainless that vary in
corrosion
Keep 'um tight, no worries. I've had zero issues with bolts, and that's
with bouncing down some rough, rocky trails with bikepacking loads.
With abandon,

Let's take a look. The M5 screws that ship with some nitto stuff are marked
10.9 (or grade 8), which is pretty f'n good. Interestingly enough, I've had
rack failures but not at the screw, but at the eyelet of the nitto strut.
And I'm pretty sure it was my fault. :)
