I had a 52 blue Sam. I bought the VO Rando rack and put it on my Bleriot. But
before I did that I checked to see if it would fit the Sam eyelets on the fork.
It would not fit. The Rando rack stays, if I remember correctly, don't come
down low enough to meet the fork eyelets. Stay angle is wrong
I've heard those clear coats rust through pretty quickly. Why not get it

nice! love the black and white pictures of the bridge as well. itching to
go out now that it's open, never been to treasure island. Is it true that
you need to take a shuttle where the bridge meets yerba buena island? that
you can't cycle from the bridge to treasure island?

You will also see some evidence of Bombadil needing a refinish. It will be
out of commission for a bit while I get the rust removed and have it clear
coated anew.

The new eastern span of the San Francisco Bay Bridge opened 3 years ago,
and included a bike path. The bike path went almost to Treasure Island but
stopped, a sort of bridge to nowhere for bikes. Today it opened all the way
to Treasure Island. Still a bit useless because it doesn't go to San

Has anyone tried using this? This is for a Hillborne with caliper brake. I
want to mount it using the mid-fork braze-ons but the VeloOrange site says
the braze-ons should be 3.75" below the fork crown. I measure 5" on my
bike. Is this a no-go or can it be tweaked to work?

Steve, I respectfully disagree with your suggestion. Once husband finds
out where the bike went, it will reinforce in his mind that no one will
steal it. "If the only way it gets stolen is my wife has to take it, that
proves that nobody else will take it." (I realize this is not logical.)

So how was the ride and how were the colors. According to the NWS website,
it looked to me like the weather down there was pretty nice the whole
weekend.

If Fullylugged's set only has color on one side, then there must have been
at least 2 versions. I just recently sold a set I'd been hoarding for
years. They had color on both sides of the tire and the checkerboard tread
pattern.

My Silvers Version 1 (mounted on bar end pods) do loosen, as do so many
other shifters I've used including the archetypal Power . Me, I used Blue
Loctite and button head allen screws, and put the D ring screws in my bin
of small spare parts.

The Pantaloon screwhead was...not serious. I'd never even heard about it
until I googled "unusual screw heads" or something like that. D-ring and
slot, and the slot is sized for a dime.

Plus rates go up once you use your policy, so you are still paying for the
loss way after the incident. So it is not always so easy.

For me, bounce is the operative word. Over bigger bumps the Flyer will
bounce enough to launch my butt off of the saddle. That's what happens
when you have springs with no damping. Kind of useless off-pavement IMO,

Grant,
I'm another voice against the pentalobe idea. No other fastener on the bike
uses it, it will require a special tool just for the shifter, making
maintenance a pain - there's not really a reason to do this, other than
theft, perhaps, and if you're still using a D-ring than that's moot.
Pentelope? Does that mean I can't tighten without a special tool if it
loosens on the road? That would be a bad idea. Cyclists have been
using the slot and D-ring for decades with no major confusion.
