[RBW] Choco norm vs Albas

2017-07-13 Thread Jay in Tel Aviv
Anyone tried both? They both fit MTB sized levers which is good for my v-brakes. The choco looks more comfortable in the pictures. I especially like the flatter shape of the "corners". I'd love to hear your real world experience before spending the $$ to switch. Jay -- You received this

Anyone have any experience with these? I have a Nitto Technomic 120mm with a ton of the quill showing right now with some noodles and the combination is a bit too flexy for me. I'm hoping the Nitto HiRiser being made of steel might feel bit less flexy? I can pair it with some 25.4 dirt drop

Thanks Jay. For those interested in 58 Sam stand over, I took 2 pic's of my 58 Sam's top tube ... just in front of the seat (33" / 838), and up at the head tube intersection (35" / 889). I have Kwick Tendril 38 tires.

I'm away from home at the moment, but I do have my Appaloosa with me (also 62cm). I think the standover will be very close. It's about 35" (889) with Schwalbe Almotion 700 x 50s. I will be home Saturday and can post an exact measurement then, in the event that you don't hear from anyone else.

Jay or Austin, When convenient, would you be willing to post the standover height of your 62 Sam, just in front of the saddle nose, plus the tire size you're running? I'm 6-1 with a 90.7 PBH. You are taller by a long shot, but I think I might have long enough legs to make it work. I used to

I find DeLorme Gazeteers problematic in that the road numbers often (very often, for entire areas) do not match the physical designations on the road in actuality. They also do not distinguish between 4x4 road and dirt road, at least in their Colorado Gazetter. Their road lines for smaller

Thanks Garth, my go to maps are the DeLorme Gazeteers, I have quite a pile. On those maps, the smallest roads often become trails, shown by a broken rather than continuous line. Many of these are rideable, but also many are washed out and not much fun with a bike. Thanks for the reply. Steve On

Sooo, for those playing along at home, it is definitely the Surly Open Bar? I am the queen of ALt bars and can't seem to try enough of them. My next bar is going to be the FSA Metropolis on my Seven Café Racer replacing the Bosco bars. Definitely not the Ahearnes - although that is nice one.
