A while back we talked about the front end of my Niner RLT9. I've settled
on that bike being the bike I will use for the Marin Mountains 200k brevet

~13000ft of climbing. I'm pretty intimidated by those numbers,
Great report on your impressive challenge. I have a BMC Monster Cross and
almost bought the road bike when I was in Mike's shop a year ago. Probably not
as flexible as you, though, so maybe that was a good thing. Keep up the great
work. Looking forward to #6.

I worked it every which way, believe me -- I had pages of Excel gear
sheets. Given my self-imposed criteria, a 38 with the 46 gone and smaller
cogs and 2 more of them was the better choice.

The problem with private messages is you have to use the desktop version of
this site to find "reply privately to author", while most of us are on phones
now. I always add a "text me" number to my FS posts to get around this.

So you're going to trade those leaky tubes for more leaky tubes ? Hmmm, I'd
try some liquid orange or some other brand of goobly glob in the tubes, or at
least another brand of tubes rather than latex. I have used all sorts of brands
of tubes from generic to name brand and none have been any

do have to pump every day you ride, and once/week on bikes you're not

water over time.
