If you're getting shudder with a V-brake then I suspect you're just as likely, if not more, to get it with cantis, because as the fork flexes, the distance between the cable hanger and the brake itself changes, which leads to a feedback loop of exacerbated shudder. I'm a loudmouth V-brake
