[RBW] Re: WTB: 68cm Atlantis

Maybe we should get together and have Rivendell make a special run of
these. A group buy of white rhinos.

[RBW] Re: Perfect number of bikes = N?

2015-04-17 Thread 'Mark Etze' via RBW Owners Bunch

I find that maintaining and out fitting more than 3 or 4 bikes is my
limiting factor. I hate switching pumps, water bottle and saddle bags
between bikes, because I always forget something. I hate that feeling when
I am half way through a ride and notice I forgot to switch over the frame
pump. So I have each bike set up identically and ready to ride with just a
check of the tire pressure.

[RBW] Re: 64cm Quickbeam on eBay.

2015-04-09 Thread 'Mark Etze' via RBW Owners Bunch

I was tempted too, it was set up exactly how I would of set it up and you
got to love that orange. I just don't think I would have been able to use a
single speed enough to justify the cost.

I thought the shipping cost of $125 was fair to ship such a large bike
coast to coast. The last one I sent to CA was $129.

Re: [RBW] Curious addition to the Atlantis page on rivbike.com (maybe only interesting to the kinda tall)

2015-04-03 Thread 'Mark Etze' via RBW Owners Bunch

That is odd, I was looking at the geometry charts on Sunday and it
definitely was not there then. The double top tube is an interesting
addition too. The 64cm would be getting closer to what I would be looking
for, but I am waiting for the 66 or 68cm to come back.

[RBW] Re: Street Clothes, Spandex or Other Bike Specific Clothing

2015-03-07 Thread 'Mark Etze' via RBW Owners Bunch

Ever since I switched to a Brooks saddle on longer rides I usually wear
mountain bike shorts and a tee shirt. Anything less than 20 miles a I don't
bother changing from my regular clothes.

[RBW] Re: Clem PreSale.

2015-03-04 Thread 'Mark Etze' via RBW Owners Bunch
Let us know what Rivendell says. I would be interested in a Clem too, but I
have my doubts that it will fit me. I am 6'5 and already out of their
recommended range. It seems to me they need to add at least 2 more sizes,
but that would probably push the cost up.

He was unique, I only wish he had been with us longer. Google anything about
bike repair and his is one of the first to appear.
